105 - Horizon Golf

The day started on the wrong foot. One member of our flight had immigration problems prompting the team to proceed minus one.

July update:35- best score ever

I had a blast today! Coming off from almost 1 month of sluggish golf, I scored +6 on a 9 hole round with friends! The pace was slow but steady at first. After the 2nd hole I knew my puting would rescue me from wayward drives. True enough, the most putts I had was in 1 hole where I 3 putted for bogey. The rest are easy 2 putts with 3 birdey opportunity. Four pars was also my best in this public course, granting I've been playing with this course for the last 9 years (on and off). No complaints. Considering I travelled to 3 countries in the last 3 weeks. Preparing for my tri race too on August 26 is a big challenge.

The May 1 Golf at Malaysia proved to be another test of ones mettle. For a start, the group is growing! From 1 flight, we have grown to 3 flights. A friend from the military brought one of his 'mistah' to complete the 3rd flight. I brought a university alumni friend along with another friend bringing his.

Every trip we make as a group has unique stories in store. This time, the convoy ended up haywire. There was no clear direction (my fault) and meeting point in case we got stuck in some traffic.

Fortunately my driver friend is so familiar with the place they ended up meeting us at the course in a mere 15 min difference!

Lessons learned.

Good thing the weather turned to our favor, albeit punishing at Malaysia's 30-35 degC noontime barrage.

Overall, no complaints.

April Purchase

Heres the latest investment to improve my golf game- R11 3 wood. This is a swapped replacement for my sons callaway diablo 3 wood which i find an excellent companion to bombard par 5s.
