2015 Entree

This is my handicap as of April 2015, respectable 15.8. This came despite the severe cut back in my game with my 3rd boys arrival last January.

My goal this year is simply to maintain this number or up until a new "kaki" could come and challenge my game. Well Im heavily relying on my kid bros game to pick up in order that we enjoy the game together.

With the triathlon event looming in the horizon in July, all my energies is channeled to that event for now. Of course this involves attending to the kids and baby, my wife, my work, my social commitments and all.

Whew!!

History repeating itself? In score

I was chuckling when I read my sep 2013 post and I read about my struggles off the drive. We'll the good news is that I have improved so much on my 2nd shots now and off the tee is where I'm still struggling.

But with a new driver in tow, I'm trying to get as much distance off the tee so that my 2nd shots would be closer to the pin. Hence a more precise shot leading to a possible birdie 1 putt attempt.

2014 Golf Journey

Here's a quick update so far:

4Q - limited golf due to inclement weather. But played here and there with friends. Bough 2nd hand Titliest rescue to spruce up my 2nd shot. Also bought 3 iron Tourstage to vary my approach shots.

1Q - I signed up with 3 months membership. Shooting low 90s on white tee and mid to high 90s in blue tee. Bought 2nd hand 2 IRON DAIWA from a pro shop. Again to spruce up my approach shot. Experimenting with different approach shots to find out whats suited for me and my swing (rescue, wood or long irons).

2Q - signed up another 3 months with a friend. Wife is pregnant with kid #3. Life changer! Continued with the June to September Daiman membership entitlement by playing almost every saturday.

3Q - bought a new 3 rescue woods. Callaway X Hot.

4Q - recruitment overdrive. Played in the short part 3 course to aid beginners in their new

.. Just came off the woods....

Yep, thats the best way to describe it. And I lost 2 strokes I guess. But hey, this is life.

Since the last 9 months, I've hit strokes and made progress.

Now I'm back to the fairway, thank GOD!

Mid 90s

I slipped to mid 90s this weekend! Simply because I lost my focus on the game.

For the saturday round: I ended up paying attention to the slow flight ahead of us, not on concentrating my next tee shot.

In fact I was +2 on the 1st 5 hole of daiman only to end up 3 bogey 7 and 2 bogey 6 on the next 4 holes. This led to a 45 for the 1st 9 hole.

The back 9 proved to be even more challenging as I struggled with my drive and 2nd shots. The only good thing is my putting and chipping which saved the day for me.

The sunday round was better. Still ended up scoring 95, below my expected 90 or 92 round. This time around my flight had to skip holes due to severe slow play at the tee box.

My drive is better. My 2nd proved better but my chipping is a letdown! I simply could not hit the ball close to within 10 ft putting distance!

Add to this the tantrums of my playing partner whos as equally frustrated as I am!

Well if there is a remedy to ease off mental distraction then I would be the one to raise my hand!

On to next weedkend adventure!
